Whats New? ( Warning Random Post)

Ok so this is a post of whats going on in Cassie world right now. Atleast its the at work version seeing as how all my fun fabulous pics from this weekend are at home on my computer waiting to be uploaded to my NEW computer ( post on that coming soon)

Sweaty bands...Love or hate? Well first off hate the price tag, these bad boys are at minimum 15 bucks and well to be honest I could probably make one but that would require getting the sewing machine out and well USING it and that just aint happening these days with an almost 2 yr old on the loose! As far as the product itself it is beginning to grow on me. The first day I wore it to the gym I wasnt so sure. It claims to be non slip bc of the felty fabric on the side that sits on your hair. And for the most part this is true, it did stay in place I just felt like I was one step away from it coming out so I dont know what was more annoying. I think I was also skeptical bc of the price, I am an impulse buyer and I went to fleet feet to get some nike shorts (latest obsession but somehow didnt make it to this post???) and these bands were at the register. 52.oo later (shorts 32 and band 15 +tax) I was not a happy camper, but it is cute (bright polka dots on a black background). But after wearing it the past few days I can honestly say I am digging it. I may just even have to get another one????

Next Love.... M&Ms and all their chocolaty goodness.

I guess I am loving these so much bc with working out and counting calories I am not allowing myself all that much sweet stuff. Dont get me wrong I do partake in eating crap ( exhibit 1-Kates 2nd birthday party yesterday lots of sugary goodness was consumed....by yours trully)

Atleast With M&Ms I feel like I can control my sweetness intake mainly bc these are Wills favorite treat so I eat half the bag and he eats half the bag and we both win!

Onto My TV obsessions

One Tree Hill

Ok so I was totally an O.C. show when it was in its prime ( I wanted to be Marissa Cooper minus the drugs and such, ok so I totally just wanted to look like her and hook up with Ryan Atwood but who didnt!) Well One tree hill was also on during this time but I never paid it much attention. And then the O.C. went to tv heaven and began airing on soap net. Well after I had watched EVERY epsiode about 1000 times I was kina over it and oth came on before oc so I gave it a shot and wouldnt you know it became an instant love! Now I watch the current episodes on the CW and I am soooo wondering is this season is its last? I just dont think I could handle that especially since my other favorite show
Greek
JUST went off the air this past monday. It was such a great show! It was about the greek system at a college and I can say it honestly had some truth behind it. Although I quit the greek system early (Junior year) it was some of the best times of my life and this show kinda took me back. It was so funny to watch the characters freak out about events/formals/awards/boys, looking back those were all such BIG deals at the time and now you can just laugh at how silly you must have looked. I dont watch much tv at all so I am trully heart broken that Greek will no longer be part of my Monday night routine. I did however miss the first season bc I came in on season 2 so I could always watch those ( maybe I will get lucky and they will air on soap net then I would have all my shows in one place!)

Up Next: Workouts
so I have been working out sine Jan (11th to be exact) and so far I am down 16 lbs! I am weighing in at 156 lbs which is super fabulous to me bc it has been a while since my scale has seen anything less than 168.
Everyone asks what I do when I go to the gym so here it is

Les Mills Body Pump
I decided after doing almost 2 months of straight cardio that I would throw some classes/strength training in the mix. I went to body pump 3 times last week and I was pretty impressed. I started with really low weights bc I didnt want to die after one class and I also dont want to bulk up. I really didnt get "sore" after any of the classes so I was kinda bummed about that but hopefully I will keep going and increase the weight a bit to see if that will help.

I havent abondoned my first love. This is the arc trainer. Everyone always asks what it is so I thought I would post a pic. I LOVE this machine. You can burn 600 calories in an hr EASY. One time i burned 800 in a hr. Its not to hard on the knees which is a plus and although they still do from time to time my toes dont go numb on this machine nearly as much as they do on the elliptical. There are only 4 of these at my gym though so its always a fight to get one. I would have to say that this is where most of my lbs have been lost so I owe it alot hehe!

(Next 2 pics out of order)

heres a look into Wills 2nd bday party.......

and this shouldve gone above with the working out I just uploaded them backwards I guess. After going to body pump most of the week I decided to try body jam friday am and it was acutally pretty fun. Its basically an hr long dance class. I figured since I had a cheer/dance background it would be fun to try. But please note that when you are almost 30 and its been quite some time since you cheered/danced you may feel a little out of place lol. I felt so silly and that might have been bc I somehow ended up in the front row! they turn the lights out so everyone is not checking eachother out so that helps but I could still see myself in the mirror so I still felt silly( maybe if I had a margarita before I went I could loosen up) I guess I wasnt so terrible though bc the lady running the class pointed at me and said "youve done this before havent you" that made me feel kinda good, but overall I still felt silly. But then after I left the class and realized I was drenched in sweat I thought about going again bc if I had that much sweat on me I must have burned some calories!

So there you have it a little looksy into my world lately ( minus the cute baby boy and the hot hubby-that post to come tomm)

Oh and to leave you with a few more random things I learned this week:
* since I am at work I will throw a work learning moment in- you cant use HOT water to warm breastmilk-it breaks down the proteins...who knew???
* I totally heard from skinny runner that there is going to be a Super Troopers 2-WHAT?!?! I loved that movie ( littering and........)
* the wonderful hubby has the bon jovi hook up so we are going!!!!!
*5 pigs in a blanket are like a million calories (seriously like almost 300)

And if I can leave with just one word of advice it would be this
NEVER, and I repeat NEVER yank a diaper off your young one in a hurry when you have a head cold ( warning head cold can impair your sense of smell) that my friends is when you unknowingly and unpreparingly let the S%&T hit the floor. And dont ask how I know these things please its just better left unsaid :)
