Random Thoughts for the Day

So I had bunches of stuff on the brain and thought I would share. So of course I was like every other woman in the world and woke up to watch the royal wedding this am. In all honesty that was about the time Will woke up and crawled in our bed so since I was up I tuned in. I have to say I am glad I did it was really pretty fun to watch and man was Kate beautiful. the whole thing was spectacular, my wedding was far from royal but it took me back to how fun and special that day was for me. It made me want to parade around in my gown again, which also made me think of a fun 30th bday party idea hmmmmmm lots of girls in there gowns could be fun right :)Anyhow I think the funniest part of the whole thing is that when my mom came to watch Will so I could go to work tonight she insisted on calling him Wills (like Prince William is called im assuming) I got a pretty big kick out of that.
Ok so next topic up for discussion swing sets. I am having the hardest time picking one out for Will. He is getting it for his bday from his GiGi. There are only a handful of problems holding this up. First off is the fact that our backyard is TINY so I am not exactly sure how it will even fit in our backyard. and then there is design and reviews. I found a gorgeous set (bc looks are whats important right) and it had horrible reviews and I am not talking about just one. So it was obviously a no go. But I guess everything does happen for a reason bc I got an email today for 20% off all wooden swingsets at toys are us good for fri & sat only so looks like I will be making the final decision today wether I like it or not, saving money always helps move the process along.
Next BBQ fest, where will it be held since the scary possibility (reality) is that the usual area will be flooded? That seems so crazy to me. It also seems so crazy how destructive these storms have been, My heart goes out to those affected by the storms all around us. I simply cannot imagine.
and lastly why am I sooo STRESSED to the max these days. I have no reason to be yet I cannot get my head on straight. Im way behind on emails and editing and a clean house whats that? I so need to pick up the pace and I hope to soon so for anyone reading if you could just say a littel prayer i get my self together that would be greatly appreciated.
K. Thanks!

My beloved Bumbleride

Ok so operation declutter is in full swing. To put it simply we just have to much stuff and if I am not careful you are going to be seeing me on an episode of hoarders. Most things will be sent to good will but like I said in my first blog sale post there are just some things that I cant bring myself to send and this is my effort to find these items a good home! so what I am posting today is my 2010 Bumbleride Flyer (seagrass color). It has been the best stroller. I loved it from the moment I saw it bc it is not the same old stroller and its not made of big old plastic. I got many compliments on it while I used it and the functionality (is that a word lol) of it is amazing, it met all my needs! I love that the the bar is adjustable so you can position your child forward facing or facing you. I have the attachment to make it a "travel system" We used a graco carseat and it fit perfectly. I believe their website has the names of the carseats that work with this model. The only reason I am getting rid of it is bc we dont use it anymore, Will has not outgrown it size wise he just prefers to walk everwhere these days so we found that we were always pushing around an empty stroller. It has sat in my formal living room since before Christmas ( I also hand washed the fabric at this time as I thought my sis in law was going to be borrowing it for her new baby). the only "blemishes" it has are a few marks on the metal frame (likely from getting it in and out of the car) the fabric has no stains and is in perfect condition. These strollers retail for almost 400.00 brand new. I am asking 250.00 If this sounds like the stroller for you email me at cassiebousson@yahoo.com

Spring Cleaning

ok so I know I probably dont even have enough followers to have any success with this but I have seen a TON of bloggers I follow doing this and figured I could follow in their footsteps bc I have come to the realization that I have too much CRAP and half of it is just wasting away in my possession. So I am going to be having a blog sale. Im not sure when I will post it but basically ive got some camera lenses (for canon-they are fab I just have like 6 and only use 2 regularly), I am also going to be putting up some shoes ( ie. $300 cole hahn suede pumps that ive worn like twice and some steve madden teal and tan cowboy boots that I Loved but they dont love me back post Will my feet are just too big). I also have some fab dresses that no longer fit since I started working out, and a few other odds and ends. Hopefully I will have some takers and make progress in operation declutter! If you read this and know of anyone who might be interested tell them to stop by and check it out! I look forward to sharing my goodies soon :)

Family Pics

Oh my gosh so I dont know if I mentioned that we were getting family pics done last week. This is going to sound so vain and well it is so theres no beating around the bush. I lost 20 pounds for vacay then went on vacay and got somewhat tan so OF COURSE I would schedule family pictures around the fact that this is probably the most fabulous I will ever feel ( i worked hard dangit lol). So anyhow last thursday we set off downtown to meet up with Melanie
(melaniepitcherphotography.com) I have seen her work a lot on fbook bc some friends of mine have used her. I am VERY picky when it comes to pics I mean I drove to Nashville for Wills newborn pics and it was so worth it but I wanted to stay in town this go round. and let me just tell you this chick was awesome. Not only did the pics turn out wonderful but she was just super cool to work with! I definitely plan on using her in the future and I cannot wait to order a cd with these prints on it ( i need a canvas for the house) for anyone interested heres the link
http://melaniepitcherphotography.zenfolio.com/p287271896 and the password is easter. Check em out and let me know what you think :)

Follow Up to previous post

Ok so sorry I have been MIA for the past few days but like I said in my last post little man has been SICK! So I cant exactly remember where we left off but basically we had a high fever with other symptoms for 5+ days. I might have said this already but its where I am goona start. Sunday Will woke up a little more like himself (sat was awful with his spike in temp and behavior and the minor med closing before we could get there), so back to sunday he actually ate and played and seemed soso. Well Joey goes fishing and we nap and of course he wakes up from nap hot and feisty. Well at this point I couldnt call in to work ( it was past the acceptable time) meaning I didnt have time to take him to the minor med. Joey watched him that night while I was at work. He wasnt as bad as saturday night but he was puny so Joey and I decided we would take him to sick clinic at our peds office first thing mon morning. So He wakes up miserable and we head straight there as soon as I get home from work. Luckily there werent a lot of people waiting so we got back to a room really quick. We were also very lucky that his ped was the one rounding in sick clinic that am woo hoo we love Dr. Hanson ( dont get me wrong the others are ok but Dr. Hanson can really put your racing nurse momma mind at ease) so he was actually afebrile (no fever) woo hoo thats a first in like 5 days. Nect Dr. hanson went for the ears....and wouldnt you know DOUBLE ear infection! I almost started crying right then and there bc as mommy you never want to think that your the reason your baby is miserable. Dr. Hanson was very quick to point out though that it probably started out as a viral infection due to the high fever and then when the congestion set in it set him up for the ear infections. He said they prob didnt show up till the day his fever spiked and he felt worse which was saturday which really made me wish we hadnt missed the minor med hrs bc we couldve gotten antibiotics on board then! Oh well cant do anything about the past so we got his rx filled and he is on day 3/10 of omnicef. Luckily his 2 yr check up is next week so we can follow up bc despite the antibiotics he is still pretty crummy feeling this week. I hope he gets to feeling better soon bc it is just down right pitiful to see my little man suffer. Today is his BDay and we did take him to see HOP but that is about the only time he has been happy today :(

Whats a Mom to do?

Ok so seriously, I may be a nurse but when it comes to normal healthy child illnesses I am clueless and tend to freak out ( yes me freak out I know that like never happens and all.....HA) Ask me about gut kids etc and I can help you out, throw me a healthy 2 years old whose had a high fever going on 5 days now and I am at a loss.

My poor Will is pitiful. We got back in town tuesday night and since Wednesday he has been sick. At first it was just a fever that didnt really slow him down. No biggie we popped some tylenol and motrin and life was grand. I thought it was his 2 yr molars. But then we added nasty cough and congestion and diarrhea to the mix along with a slowly increasing fever. His temp last night 104.9 in his ear and 103.3 rectally.

I think yesterday was the icing on the cake for me. Up until that point I was thinking he was fine, I had even only called the peds office once! They said there was a fever virus going around so to keep an eye on him. Well yesterday was the girls 4th birthday at the zoo and from the moment he woke up he was not himself. He was pitiful and whiny and clingy, it broke my heart. we had a pretty big meltdown prior to the bday party, we even opted out of easter egg hunts bc I didnt want him to over do it. Well it didnt seem to matter bc he was NOT feeling the party. It was so sad to see him so isolated from everyone (which hindsight is probably a good thing as to not spread germs) I was playiong photographer so he pretty much stayed in daddys arms the duration of the party. We got home and it only got worse. His fever went up and up despite meds . I had called the peds office again that am and they again told me to just WATCH him, ugh watch him suffer was all I did. When I finally decided I couldnt take it any longer I called the minor med and they closed 3 minutes prior to me calling!

I was really upset, I was afraid and still am that it is some kinda bug that can be treated and we are making him suffer. Our plan was to take him to the minor med today but when he woke up he was fever free and asking for food ( he hasnt eaten in 3 days-he drinks lots but no eating) he was chipper most of the morning and we even took him to the park. We decided against exposing him to more germs if he was getting better. so after breakfast at Blue plate and play time we took a nap.

Well wouldnt you know we wake up from nap with a fever and looking pitiful again. UGH and at that point we couldnt go to the Dr bc Joey had gone fishing and I had to go to work :( So end of story resulting in my poor little guy suffering again tonight. He is so going to the dr tomm wether he has a fever or not. I feel like the worst mom ever bc this is seriously the sickest I have ever seen him. If I didnt know exactly what they wouldve done I wouldve taken him to the ed last night but I knew better lol.

so to all my mommy firends out there have your kiddos gotten this crud and if so what did you do?

Dominican Republic 2011

Well first let me just say that I am soooo glad to be home! Traveling after you have a little one is soooo different from traveling before you had them. Dont get me wrong I had a great time but man did I miss my little guy!
The trip started off with a bang, or something like that. We got to the airport bright and early last wed am boarded the plane heading for Atlanta....or so we thought! After sitting on the plane for over 2 hrs they tell us there are "computer problems" and we wont be flying! AFter talking to the travel agent she said get to Atlanta so that we did. We ended up boarding another plane to Atlanta only to miss our connecting flight by 1 hr BOO! And the next plane out to the DR was not until thursday. So that meant staying the night in ATL and that is what we did.
So we got up bright and early Thursday morning and started our trek to the DR again. This time it was smooth sailing unless you count the guy sitting next to me who thought my seat was his seat too and practically sat on me the whole flight ugh! But I was on my way to the beach so I just kept thinking happy thoughts!
So we made it safely and then jumped on the bus to head to the resort. this was interesting yet also sad. The ride took almost an hour and we had to drive through a lot of poverty stricken areas. It kinda made me feel bad heading to this amazing resort while people were left living in these conditions. It definitely makes you think! But I will keep this post happy and upbeat, the interesting part was seeing how crazy these people drive-they were NUTS I tell you. So we made it safely to the resort and thats when the fun began. All we did all week was eat drink and then do it some more.
The food was great and the drinks were good and we had great friends for company. We also met a lot people and hung out with them. Definitely some memorable moments, for instance when Joey won the beer drinking contest and then tried to win the womens dance competition ( yes you read that right). He apparently had a few to many mama juana shots. I dont know what was in that stuff but wooo was it nasty and potent. They call it the baby maker....we shall see?! We tried most of the resturants and most of the drinks. Our favorite by far was the coco loco. They brought it to you in a huge coconut and it was delicious.
After we had been there a few days we decided to do an excursion. We all agreed on deep sea fishing. I think the only good thin that came out of the trip was a pic lol. The waves were huge and we were all puking or very close too, and on top of that we didnt get one bite. So we turned back early and went back to the resort. Here are a few pics from the trip ( there are more on facebook)

Jess took this pic for us..yeah a good pic of us!

Dinner the last night

Our failed attempt at Deep Sea Fishing

Joey shaking what his momma gave him

the beautiful beach (ignore the trash can bottom right-i didnt edit these)
and this pic wasnt even with my good camera

Mama Jaunas

We finally made it ( yes I know these are out of order)

Toes in the water Vacay 2011

Overall we had a great trip. For me personally it was a little long. I think the day delay to start followed by staying a day later to make up for it just kept me from my boy too long. The service was by no means "bad" but it was a lot different from when we stayed in Cabo ( they are just super good in Mexico) In the DR they take it easy which can be a bit of a stretch from our fast pace lives here in the US. The beach and weather however were amazingly gorgeous, if it werent for the no see ems and not having my boy with me I couldve stayed there forever.
No-see-ems I might add are apparently little critters that bite the stew out of ya on the beach. When we went to Cabo I read reviews about them but never had any encounters. Well I didnt see a thing about em when I read up on the DR and wouldnt you know they loved my sweet skin bc I look like I have a case of the chicken poxs and man oh man do they itch like crazy!!!!!!! Im hoping they will go away soon but the spots are quite large so who knows how long they will hang around.
So thats it my DR experience in a blog post.
Great Memories were made for sure!

april fools day and other Randoms

Ok so I was trying to be all funny on April fools Day and of course the hubby totally called me out. So Maybe I did take a pregnancy test, and maybe I did or didnt have a reason to but none the less the answer was not preggo (which is sad but also good bc vacay is a few days away) anyhow it was an elctronic one and I tried to snap a pic of just the preggo part and sent it to him. Well he caught on too quick so it was no fun. He totally said nice try but Im not buying it. It was kinda fun getting all excited over a little test, maybe I will have to try it out more in the future hmmmmmm?

And now for the Random. I am totally LOVING my shellac'd nails (they are similar to the pic below except a little more "purple" I was wanting this exact color below but guess I didnt do a very good job picking. Anyways I am totally wishing my friend hadnt told me about this technique bc I think I am addicted now. Ive always loved the ideas of having my nails done but didnt bother bc with washing my hands so much at work the manicure was over before it ever began. But these bad boys hold up. Granted it has only been 3 days but they look like i just walked out of the salon. I will have to get a pic of mine and post it on here. the best part is that it is suppose to stay on and not chip for up to 2 weeks. I hope this is the case!

More Random- I have my Easter mini sessions tomm and sunday. I am super excited!I am ready to get back in the swing of things with my photography. I have been doing a little here and there but really want to break in the new computer. I am also thinking about getting some new editing actions just got to do some research before I commit!

I dont think I have anything else interesting to say. hope everyone had a great April Fools and played some fun tricks! If not (like me) better luck next year!
