Ok so this is a shot I took yesterday while playing with my new lens. I LOVE this pic bc it is crisp and even though you cant see Wills fave i think it just says so much about him ( I know I am crazy but pics like this are what keeps me taking em) So i of course had to edit them today (it was late afternoon and lighting was a little cool on the original photo) and then when I came up with these two i couldnt decide which one I liked more but I knew one of them was going to be the new header on my clog so i got to work and about hald an hour later my blog has been revamped...Hope you like. and of course leave a comment a let me know what you think :)

The Gala was so much fun and it was for a great cause! Food and drinks were yummy and hanging out with friends is always priceless. We were scared we were going to be overdressed but it was perfect! Will slept the whole time we were gone to so that made me feel better as well (he spiked his fever when we were getting ready I wasnt goign to go but everyone talked me into it) Overall it was a GREAT night!

My ring- one of the main reasons i wanted this lens i do a lot of ring shots on the hands/toes with newborns and it takes a lot of attempts to get the rings un blurry...DONT think I will have that problem anymore!

So I dont think there is much more to say about the new lens its AWESOME and I cant wait to use it. The flash is beyond amazing as well (see Wills previous post those were all taken with the flash)

Ok so I am posting like crazy tonight and in the midst of updating I almost forgot to mention my poor sick little man. He started running a fever sat (and he ALWAYS runs high fevers so we never know just how to handle it) well we gave him motrin and tylenol throughout the weekend and over the 2 days his appetite decreased his secretions increased and bless his heart he wasnt quite himself. We checked his temp this morning (at this time I am still wondering if he is teething) and he was 98 so we made the decision to send him to MDO. Well he did great other than continuing to not eat well and after I picked him up we came home and i put him down for a nap after a little bit of playtime. WEll around 430 he woke up SCREAMING and digging in his ears so I kinda figured at that point we had more than teething on our hands so off to the Dr we went (luckily we were able to get an after hr appt pretty fast) We saw a different Dr. that we hadnt seen yet but she was so good to Will and with one look in each ear we found our culprit a DOUBLE ear infection! My poor baby hes only had one ear infection prior to this and now a double whammy! He is being such a trooper though. Since he is allergic to amoxicillin we are on omnicef and I hope it knocks it out and we can move on! After the Dr we came home and played and he didnt get fussy again till right before bed time but now he is out like a light! I hate when my little one is sick you feel so helpless! Hopefully we will make a speedy recovery!

We had a low key fathers day. We went to church and then came home and napped. It was much needed after a fun filled night before at the Memphis Finest/Cystic Fibrosis Gala at the Zoo. Joey had two softball games which they won and then they spent some time in the pool while Mommy was off to work. It was a good night at work though so overall everyone had a great Day. Will and I are so lucky to have such a wonderful man in our life He is such a wonderful hubby to me and well I couldnt ask for a better Father figure for our son and geez does Will ever look up to him...already! I know boys are suppose to be mommas boys but he is a Daddys boy if I have ever seen one! Maybe one day he will like me more lol!

Super Pumped!

So today I made quite a LARGE purchase..... I finally bought an external flash and while I was at it I bought a pretty awesome lens (with a 2.8 aperture which means bring on the sharpness in my photos) . I have needed a flash for a LONG time now and it was the next in line of items for me to purchase and after talking to Wills newborn pic photographer Amelia (ameliajmoore.com) she recommended the canon flash and the canon lens that had the 2.8 apeture. Well the price tag for both of these items were as follows flash-599.oo and lens 1399.00.......YIKES! So needless to say I was a little discouraged i could get the flash but the lens would have to wait (a while lol) So I went to Memphis Photo Supply today and talked to Bud....He was SOOOOO HELPFUL! He showed me the above flash the nissen Di622 and with a price tag of 179.99 i was already pumped but to be honest it is a very SIMPLE flash which i think is good for me to start with. The canon had TONS of bells and whistles and at my point in my photography career i dont need all those right now. So I was sold. It even has a built in white card to bounce light as well as a diffuser. I have already practiced using it (pics to come) and indoor pics are already showing improvement. Now onto the lens i definitely did not need one seeing as i have 4 already but my best lens only had the capability of a 4.8 aperture speed which doesnt always cut it. I really want that sharpness SOOC (straight out of camera) and although i get it at times i wanted to increase that to EVERY shot. Well Bud didnt have a camera to put the flash or the lens on for me to check out (they arent a canon dealer which i am finding out most people arent?????) so i ran home to get my camera and headed back up to the store to test out the merchandise. While at home I also checked out some reviews on the different brands since i wasnt purchasing canon equipment and ALL the reviews said they were awesome! And you know the BEST part????? This lens was only 529.99 soooooo what did i do??? I got them BOTH! And I could not be more excited. I have 4 shoots this week as of now I am even MORE excited (if that is possible) to get to them :) But anyways I just had to share the good news and say a HUGE THANK YOU to all the wonderful friends and friends of friends who have asked me to take their childrens/family photos I would not be at the point in my photography career that I am without all the support and business from everyone....Thanks for having faith and believing in my work it means more than anyone will ever know. I hope to keep doing FOREVER!!!!!!

So I think we can be classified as the "Crazy People Nest Door" now

I cant believe I almost forgot to post this. I am laughing just thinking about it as I type. So where to begin? I guess I should start out by warning any poor soul who thinks that they can get into our house. Please dont mess with Fort Knox haha. Ok so details I know none of this makes sense without them. Well last night me and Joey actually went to bed early we were exhausted! Early for us is 10 ish. Well at about midnight we woke up to one of our dogs barking. We have had the dogs for ten plus years and they are just like children they have different barks for different situations and this bark was the usual "lets be annoying bark" So we both shooshed him and rolled over to go back to bed. Well then a few seconds later was the growling bark that usually means the mailman has dropped off the mail. So Joey jumps out of the bed and is about to go repremand the dog for waking Will up when he hears someone jiggling our front door handle. He flies back to our room and looks out our window and says someone is rying ot get in the house. I automatically Freak Out! So he is grabbing the shot gun and LOADING it while I am trying to figure out what in the world is happening. Well he races back to the front door and I hear him open it and I am like WTH are you doing. o about that time I shut Wills door and go into the living room as well (yes I know havent I seen enough scary movies to NOT do this) Luckily it is not a burglar. Instead it is some WASTED girl???? Joey (mind you he is in his underwear holding a shot gun at the front door) not so nicely asks the girl what she is doing at our house. Poot thing is so wasted and I am sure scare that she sees Joey in his underwear and say Oh and then sees the gun and says OH then she cant even talk she says she is just suppose to be down the street a bit and turns and walks off. We were so confused. Luckily she didnt make it in our house or I am afraid to say things could have been far fom funny :( We dont live in a bad area but we do live in East Memphis ad there are a few crazies around so are home is definitely protected. Well later we were trying to think of where she could have meant to g and then we heard another loud truck in front of our house so Joey again jumps up and looks out the window to see our new neighbor getting home. Well then Joey puts two and two together see they have the same truck so Joey calls him real quick and asks if he has a girl staying with him and he says yeah its my friend sorry man she said she cam to your door. At that point Joey is laughing hystericaly bc she mentioned nothing of the underwear or the SHOTGUN. After Joe tells the neighbor you can then hear him laughing over the phone and he says she forgot to mention that and now he is going to make fun of her. Poor girl. Sooooo moral of the story Dont get so wasted you end up at the wrong house bc you might get more than you bargain for.

Sorry Mary I am NOT Pregnant

Ok so I couldnt resist the title. I posted yesterday about Joeys Fathers Day Surprise I had in the works and my friend Mary thought it might be that I was preggers. Nope not yet anyways we have started the discussions of having a second child but thats about as far as we have gotten. But back to the subject at hand. I wanted to do something special this fathers day last year we still had a newborn on our hands so the Mother/Fathers Day were spent low key. I had been researching B&B's close to memphis and I wasnt finding anything that looked nice or fun. Then i saw a friend of facebook looking for weekend getaway ideas so i checked out the places that were recomended to her and found a winner. Then I was talking to my fellow FTM friend Sha and she told me how her and her husband went to the exact place i had found and LOVED it. Sooooo where is it well it is in Greenwood, MS and it is The Alluvian Hotel. They have a Spa and A viking cooking school there so we can get a relaxing massage and the try our hand and cooking up some good food! I told Joey "the plan" last night and he was so excited. So I think I did good. Now we just have to figure out a weekend we can go (around his and my work schedule) so even though it may take us a little bit to get there that is the official PLAN!

And on a side note the place looks Gorgeous so I cant wait to take my camera and get some pics!

Sprinkler Park

This was our first outing to the sprinkler park and we had so much fun! I didnt know how Will would do, he is a definite water baby but sprinklers spraying cold water, well i just didnt know if he would enjoy it as much but boy was I wrong he was out there playing like all the big kids! I hope we get to go again real soon and stay a bit longer (we got there late bc i had to make a pit stop for sunscreen and swim diapers! After the water fun we headed over to a feloow FTM's house to do fathers day crafts which turned out tooo cute I will post if after sunday of course! Not that Jey even knows how t ofind this blog but none the less im gonna try to keep it a surprise :) I have also come up with a REALLY good Fathers Day gift so I am hoping it all works out ...more to come on that as well! Now we are home and little man is asleep he didnt even budge when i transported him from carseat to crib so i am thinking that means MOMMY NAP time woo hoo!!!! We shall see. Oh and I am TRYING to upload videos but blogger is still not cooperating so until it does i guess i will have to be patient!

Uh Oh

Ok so in my last post I toally forgot to mention Wills favorite new phrase. I am going to have to get in on video but he will drop and /or intentionally (sp?) throw something down and say "UH OH" and giggle. He thinks it the funniest thing ever. And I know he does it on purpose sometimes bc he will get so excited and accidently say UH OH first and then throw down whatever he has in his hand. It keeps us laughing for hours. He chams anyone in sight. He has an swful big vocabulary which I am sure most babies his age do but some of his favorites he says right now are -dog, cat, mama,dada, mimi, gigi, Jude (one of our dogs),oooooohhhh, wow,ooohweee, and the most popular wouldbe NO. I mean really how ddid he learn NO I guess I say it way to much so i have tried to use alternative words or phrases to maybe ax that word out of his vocab but none the less when he look at me and says NO it takes everything I have not to laugh bc it is just to funny the way his lips pout in his pronuncition lol! I often when did he grow up so much I put him to bed and he wakes up even bigger than before. Each month I try to get better about blogging what he is up to and I know one day I will look back at all this and laugh!

Mommas lock up your daughters!!! It shouldbe against the law to be this handsome. Ok so all mommy-ness aside I took some pics of Will after church yesterday bc he was dressedlike such a big boy and I finally got to play around with my eye enhancer action. Will and my eyes are already blue but this action allows you to actually make them even brighter (see above) and I was just amazed with the outcome. It is a retty handy litle tool. I will have to remember it during my next newborn edit session. Anyways we have been having so much fun around here now that Wil is walking. Dont get me wrong he still has a few bumps in the rod but he is definitely loving the new found freedom. He even went so far as to think he didnt need a nap this weekend he screamed like a newborn everytime you would touch his rear end to the crib. It threw me for a loop bc he has been loving his crib prior to this. I say loving as in he would prefer to nap in their with me (believe me I still try but he just tosses and turns but as soon as i lay him in the crib hes out...tear) Today was better I usually put him down for a nap when we get home from MDO bc he diesnt nap that well there. Hecried for about 5 seconds then began to play in his crib and then dozed off so maybe it was just a "I would rather be swimming than napping thing...who knows) Speaking of swimming he is such a water baby. We put swimmies on him and hold him in the pool bc he hates the baby raft it s to constricting to his freedom lol. Well before we knew it saturday he was geting in and out of the pool by himself and not all at the steps either he walked half way down to the deep end (me followingthe whole time in the water) and then he tried to plop on in, he atleast gows butt first but he is definitely witout fear. And then while I was at work sunday Joey said he was already jumping off the side to him..OH NO i thought we would atleast have until next summer before he was jumping off the diving board but a gut feeling tells me it will probably be by the end of the summer. Atleast he isnt scared so hopefull we can use that to our advantage and teach him young all about water safety, well to the extent that a 1 yr old can understand of course hehe. Other than that there hasnt been too much going on at the Bousson household. I purhased my ticket for Wicked in October. Yeah to Joeys uncle who is a season ticket holder or something like that w/o him we wouldnt have been able to pre order. We also have been fridge hunting. Our fridge is dying a slow leaky death so its replacement is inevitible its just what we want to put in its plac that has been the problem. Everything we want is TOO BIG for our current space so we will have to have a mini demo but it has to be minimal enough that the rest of the kitchen can hang tight until we can afford to redo everything (which wont be for a while) so after narrowing our options this weekend we now have a game plan and an idea of what we will be purchasing lets just say its a pretty stainless look (we dont want real bc you can see finger prints and cant use magnets so stainless look is right up our alley but unfortunately just as pricey who knew????) french door fridge with a pull out freezer on the bottom that has 4 drawers woo hoo ! Once we get it I will be able to actually shop at the grocery store and buy in bulk-life is good! so now that I think I have updated yall on just about everything I am gonna anp while Will does bc I had a newborn shoot this am so my butt has NOT been to bed EEK! I am fading fast! And tonight I have LOTS of editing to get started!

Ok so i have been sooo crazy busy latelt that i have not been blogging so much. I was actually suppose to work tonight but got cancelled due to low census...YEAH! I have soooo much to do tomm and I was gonna have to do it all on NO sleep which was going to be VERY interesting to say the least but now there are no worries. Its probably a good thing I got cancelled to bc Will would NOT sleep today. we were up at 7 then we napped from 12-1 (yes thats it) and then i tried to get him to lay down at 3 and from 3-445 when I got the call we pretty much played the SCREAM game he was in his crib then i put him in bed with me then crib then bed NOTHING i did was working so all I have to say is GOD is so GOOD he knew I wouldnt have made it!!!So as soon as I got the call we went for a walk outside bc that is what he was wanting to do all day. He is such an outdoor boy but the bad part is he gets attacked by mosquitos he actually has a swollen eye bc they attacked his eyebrow the other night. It looks pitiful! And off the subject of bug bites but i dont wanna forget if i had gone to work i totally wouldve missed my little man decidingit was time to WALK! Now yea I know I have been posting that he is walking a he has been but it has been a few steps here and there nothing consistent and today when Joey got home he said "walk to dada" and Will did and now he is walking everywhere! I mean he still drops t his knees for a second but then he actually stands up to walk again! I cannot believe it. I will have to get a good video and post it on here! I can just tell the real fun is about to begin. We went to Elpo for dinner and he was so full of himself. Which was actually a good thing bc right befor we went he had finally fallen asleep (remember only a 1hr nap all day) so i just knew waking him up would be a huge mistake but I was sooooo hungry. But he did great and was a huge Ham as always. and of course he crashed as soon as we got home which is what I am about to do Gonna have an ealry start tomm. But I am excited!!!

Italian Fest Revelations

so last night ws tons of fun at good ole marquette park. It was Italian fest time again. but this year i have made a few observations of my time spent celebrating the italians...
1. the older I get the less beer it takes to get drunk.
2. You should never drink what appears to be a cherry limeade, especially not multiple glasses.
3. For that matter dont go near the strawberry shot man either one word....moonshine!
4. acting like a fool only use to be cute- not so cute when your almost 30 (infortunately I am talking about me)
5. Rain and humidity do NOTHING for your hair
6. If you wear wedges/heels to italianfest you are probably eleventeen (I got that from a friend too funny-i was wearing flops btw)
7. When walking home be careful to mind the sidewalk it will attack if provoked (sp) as evidence by my minor case of road rash on the inside of my ankle.
8. And lastly if you are going to do all of the above DONT take pics of the proof HAHAHA

I had a great time but this morning definitely reminded me why i dont need to party like a rockstar bc I so cant hang like I once was able to.

Making Progress

So if you read my blog you know thatWill has been taking steps here and there on and off for the last few weeks, and you also know that I am soooo not ready for this transistion. I guess not ready is not the right word more like totally scared at the idea that he will literally be all over the place once this happens. Well I must admit that as he gets closer I am slowly getting excited about the thought of him walking. Well to my surprise he walked across the entire formal living room this am. Of course I was in shock watching him that I didnt think to get the camera/flip so this video is me after the fact trying to get him to do it again. And of course he does not want to play along. He takes about three steps cries and says NONONO! But the video is still too cute so I thought i would share. So who knows maybe we will have a full fledge walker by the end of the week. And when we do if everyone would please pray for me lol!
